Although the words above were written 240 years ago, they could just as easily been penned this morning. The Constitutional Republic so wisely established and so bravely defended is today reeling from decades of neglect as well as outright attack. In response to an existential threat upon our liberties, politicians from both parties continue to flail away at one another with campaign invective that does nothing to address the problem while continuing to propose more government as the solution to what government has indeed created.
It is indeed time once again for American patriots to stand and fight for liberty. Our forefathers pledged their live, fortunes, and sacred honor for the cause of God given liberty. We must do no less if their vision is to survive. They paid dearly with their blood, and millions of brave men and women have also sacrificed to “let freedom ring wherever hearts know what it is to be enslaved.” ** Thankfully, war is not required today. Violence must be avoided, because we have another viable option. We can vote.
If you know people in states that have yet to hold a primary, please communicate with them now and tell them to examine the positions of the Presidential candidates closely and find the person who most closely follows the founding principles of limited government, individual liberty, and fiscal responsibility. I believe there is one who portrays these qualities, and lives by these ideals. There is a man running for President who will not be silenced by intimidation from the left or the right. There is a candidate that can be depended on to stand against government on behalf of citizens, because he has done it before. One candidate alone has demonstrated in the halls of government that he is willing to stand on principle regardless of the outcome because it is the right thing to do. He is a candidate who knows the Constitution and is devoted to “protect, preserve, and defend it against all enemies foreign and domestic.” This candidate has lived that Presidential oath of office throughout his entire career. That candidate is Senator Ted Cruz, and I urge all American patriots to support his effort to become the next President of the United States.
